In 2015, three French artists and two Québec artists will do residencies overseas, in the Gaspé (Québec) and in Picardy (France). The results of their residencies will be presented at the same time in the Gaspé and in France.
In residence in the Gaspé
Jacques Damez (Lyon, France)
The artist Jacques Damez will be making two visits from Montreal to the town of Gaspé, during which he will photograph the same sites – in summer and then in winter. His third trip to the Gaspé will be devoted to the presentation of this research at Rencontres in the summer of 2016.
Claudia Imbert (Montreuil, France)
Claudia Imbert will be a doing a creation residency in June 2015 in the Gaspé region as part of the Gaspé-Picardie photo collaboration. The results will be presented beginning August 2015 in the Gaspé at the 6th edition of Rencontres, and then in the fall of 2015 as part of the Photaumnales festival in Beauvais, France.
Laurent Mulot (Lyon, France)
Laurent Mulot’s residency in the Gaspé took place in the spring of 2015 and was organized around a series of photographs, videos and sound recordings in the territories of the Gaspé and northeastern Québec. It will the continue in “road movie” fashion. His project will culminate in a triple exhibit: in the Gaspé in 2016, in Montreal in 2016-2017 and in Lyon, France, in 2017.
